Xbox Live is not recognizing my Gold status.

I paid for Xbox Live Gold in December of 2016, and it is asking me to sign up for Gold again. It won't let me play any games that require Gold as well as join or invite my friends to parties. I even have an email of the receipt for when I payed for Gold.
I tried doing a hard restart of my console and it did not fix the issue.

Xbox gold membership not showing on console

I recently purchased xbox live gold membership on-line, but my console is not recognizing that I am a gold member. Is there a secret to getting it to show up on my console? We are unable to play a recently purchased game because of the membership status
not updating. TY!

Error in gold status

Hello DannyWC,

We see that you are not receiving Gold Status this month due to your subscription being a promotional Gold subscription for 1 month. Promotional subscriptions are not eligible for Rewards, so your free 1 month is not eligible. From our FAQ:

My Xbox Live Rewards account is not recognizing my Xbox Live Gold membership. What should I do?

Xbox Live Rewards can only recognize paid monthly or yearly standard, non-promotional Xbox Live Gold memberships. If you have a different type of membership, we may not be able to recognize you as an Xbox Live Rewards Gold member.

Hello Diabetic Pride! Usually when this happens, either you can wait until the servers recognize your Gold status (which can take a few hours), or you can Test your Connection to Xbox LIVE. The latter will make sure your Gold status is synced immediately.

There is currently an issue where subscriptions from preview program members are not being correctly identified, due to some changes with how subscriptions for these members are categorized in the database. We are currently working with another team on correctly
