Xbox Live / Internet Required

Need to start putting notices on game covers regarding the requirement of an internet connection for the games. I don't have internet out where I live, but games like (just for example) Elite Dangerous: Legendary Edition will install the whole game from
the disc, but unless you have an internet connection you can't then go and play the game. Waste of time for me. And since the only internet service that comes out to where I live is satellite internet, I will not be getting an internet connection anytime soon.
Would have loved to know that this game requires an internet connection to play, but without trying to play it, I never knew.

Xbox One the Facts

It is my understanding that an internet connection is required out of the box, otherwise the console will not work.

Whether they change this for later released models is another matter,

 

As far as I know, most games should state that Internet is required as an example, here's a cover below.



I do however think it depends on where you purchase the game from, but most retailers I get my games from specify it requires internet. Perhaps check the back of the cover to also make sure if you don't see anything, if you are unsure I would suggest having
a look on Google or ask here within the forums.

 

most game need a first day update so most likely you yes or yes need internet connection.

 

Just looked on the back of the cover on about 20 games I own & every one that has any type of online function says internet required on the back.

Ones that are online only has it in big green words.

Even if they didn't tell you it would be down to the games publishers to put it on.

 

Games covers have always stated the internet or storage requirements needed for play.

All the info needed is found on the back cover, but some covers these days show it clearly on the front too.
