    Xbox Live in China?


    I have a good friend that lives in China and it seems that the Xbox One and Xbox Live are coming to China on September 23rd.

    Now, I wonder a few things...

    1. Am I wrong to assume that Xbox Live will also work with the 360? Not sure if Live was going to be only for the One.

    2. Will their Live servers be sandboxed like most Chinese things or will their players be able to play with us in the USA, and other countries?

    3. "If" they can play on servers outside of China, how will Microsoft deal with the hacked consoles? Since they have technically been illegal to

    own all these years, outside of a few areas and Hong Kong.

    China requires you use China-specific Xboxes and their China specific version of Live

    Hi La Rock 1979,

    So due to governmental reasons the only Xbox One's that work in china are the ones sold there and developed for that market. The consoles sold in China have different settings than most other markets in the world so in china your console must be purchased
    in China to connect to Xbox live.

    In China there are some very unique rules in regards Internet and purchases, so your Xbox One from Germany will not connect to Xbox live over there.

    I've lived in China and I loved the place but when it comes to the internet and Xbox live I too struggled and I also tried to get my company's IT department to try and help out but they could not.

    China blocks exterior Xbox Live activity, and has a custom walled garden China only version.
