    Xbox Live identity verification issue


    I've been unable to reset my xbox account password due to the fact that the identity verification uses a phone number i'm no longer using, and isn't giving me an option to use an alternate email for some reason. All account recovery forms i've sent have been declined, any other ideas for how i can get my password reset? I'm still logged into the account on my Xbox app however, i'm just afraid of logging out of it due to the fact that i don't know my current password, hence i couldn't get back in

    As long as the card he buys is a prepaid debit card and not a visa gift card he should have no issue. As prepaid debit card's require him to validate his identity, whereas a visa gift card requires no identity verification.

    I figured it out. You have go to Microsoft security settings and set up identity verification and two step verification.

    Had same issue. Just signed out of my profile and signed back in. Had to re-enter my password and a half-dozen identity verification codes, but that got it working.
