Xbox LIVE headset

This is an odd problem I haven't had before.

My headset (Astro A10's) still sends audio through the earpieces, however it won't send my voice at all. My mic won't flare and nobody can hear me. What's odd is that this only happens on my stock Xbox controller. When I use this headset on my Elite controller
it works fine and I can still talk.

Why is my voice not going through only on my stock controller? I have to use this controller right now, and the mic worked fine a few days ago. I've made sure it's not muted or anything; tried plugging it back in and blowing down the jack. Nothing makes
the voice work again.

Hey Tru7h thanks for keeping in touch!

We suggest a reset of the console since the problem might be on the actual OS of the console so we would suggest a >Soft
Factory Reset< (while keeping games and apps, go the extra mile and hardwire the controller and headset to make sure they both receive matching updates)
IF AND ONLY IF THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA IS MET:

There is a stable network connection.
The information for all profiles is known (email and passwords)

Once the setup is complete it will ask if we want to keep settings or manual setup lets do manual setup. Give it a shot and let us know of any changes!

Just updated my controller and it still doesn't broadcast my voice at all.

check nothing is stuck in the 3.5mm socket, fluff or stuff. If there is gently remove it and try your headset again. As stated check also that you have the latest firmware in settings>kinect & devices>devices & accessories.
