Xbox live gold

When I try to play fortnite it says xbox live gold is required and if this is something I need to pay for I'm going to have a mental breakdown I bought the console I bought the controller I and I need this bull as a consumer I feel ripped off we should
be rebelling they dont know where tired of it when we use it. And not that but the fact that it is 2018 if it was 1995 I could understand but it's normal to play online games what's stopping me from going to Sony.

Hi, the mental breakdown bus is on it's way, you do have to pay for a Gold sub, just as you'd also need a PS Plus sub on the Playstation to play online. Enjoy your breakdown, had a few myself over the years and they're either great or just horrid.

You do realise that you have to pay to play online on PlayStation. In fact, their yearly price is higher than Xbox, for a much poorer service.

 

Yes it is something that you have to pay for to use. Paying for it is what helps keep it up and running. There is maintenance and monitoring that needs to be done to keep it working and up to date for us to be able to play with friends and connect with other
people online. It does come with other benefits besides just being able to play online. It's the same as paying to have internet in the first place. Sorry for the inconvenience. Hope you come join us on Xbox live.

 

On PlayStation you do not have to pay to play online if it’s a free to play game like Fortnite. I’d love it MS did that too.

 

Your missing the pc and switch not only that but pc has been out for longer than the xbox

Unfortunately to play the game online on xbox you need a gold subscription, It doubtful that will ever change for xbox.

I'll keep it simple; Yes, you have to pay for xbox live gold. The same appllies to Playstation Plus.

The game Fortnite can be played without xbox live or playstation plus on the pc and playstation (Though the customer support on playstation being not as good as Microsoft's).

I suppose you didn't buy the xbox just to play Fortnite. About every other game (at least the phyisical copies) state on the box that a Gold-membership is required to play online. You might want to get yourself informed about limitations before buying devices.

For what it's worth, sorry for giving you a mental breakdown. I'm not sure if it still applies, but new consoles come/came with a (month) trial for Gold.
