xbox live gold works with all xboxes?

i need 1 year live gold key for my xbox one

i have xbox 360 live gold code for 1 year.

can i use this with xbox one? i think this live codes works both platform.

but code card is old. maybe 2-3 years ago. can i buy it for xbox one?

XBox Live Gold - 360 and Xbox One?

Does anyone know if an older Xbox 360 Live Gold prepaid card will work with Xbox One service?

I am assuming using any code, whether it is advertised as for 360 or One will work since it is all "Xbox Live Gold"?

I thought they were getting rid of the family live membership because you could have so many members under your live account now at no added cost? So it should work out cheaper... at least I thought that's what they said at their E3 conference.Click to expand...

I think so yes but for a single xbox, it takes the single live account and all users can access features behind the paywall as if they had gold on that console.

arthurdentpc has 3 xbox's tho, and the old "family" bundle allowed each user to effectively have their own gold membership, so gold on each user which translated to gold on each console, now its gold to anyone on the single xbox....

So I assume on single xbox families the new system is much better, but on multiple xbox families its not as good. Its not super clear tho how this new gold system will work on xbox one, but it does read like arthur is shafted rather unfairly in this new scenario.

it is possible for one live account to work on two consoles, the catch is that the "parent" Gold will need to be signed in.

For this to work for your situation, Parent Gold must set Xbox A as the HOME CONSOLE in the settings menu. All profiles on this xbox will have Gold ONLY WHILE USING THIS XBOX.

Parent GOLD will then need to be signed in at all times on Xbox B to allow any gold features to be used.

If only one account has gold then that account can get onto xbox live on any console regardless of the "my home xbox" feature.

Xbox live sharing does not work on xbox 360, so you will need more subscriptions for each other account that doesn't have gold.

On the xbox one the my home xbox feature will share xbox live gold and digital games (not all DLC) to all other accounts on that console when the account with gold is the "my home xbox" account but that does not share to backwards compatible games on xbox
one.
