Xbox live gold without without free games ?

My friend gave me a gold code, so I could play a online with him. The code worked ok and I got multiplaer working.

I thought I could download a free game, but I can't. Post

Is this how gold codes are supposed to work?

I would rather have a year of xbox live gold instead of a free game because without xbox live gold we can't even watch netflix on the console

 

Was it a gold trial, or a full gold code?

If it was only a 2 day or 14 day gold trial, you can not get the free games.

 

It was like a 3month code.

At least I can see "3M" in its name in my subscriptions.

 

Then you should get the games no problem.

What are you seeing on screen when trying to download them?

Are you being told to add a payment option?

But the problem somehow fixed itself, though I'm definite that yesterday and the day before yesterday it was asking me to buy gold subscription. I tried to download the game both from the console and the website several times.

And just now I was going to copy the text from the purchase page and it said Free.

Its also worth knowing that even if you don`t yet own an xbox one you can "download" the free games direct from your 360 dashboard.

It doesn`t exactly download them there and then, it saves that free game to your download history and it will be there ready and waiting if you ever buy an xbox one.

Just click on the xbox one box showing rayman , right next to the tomb raider box on your dashboard.

 

Umm? THEOWENKILLER,, are you saying that the Free with gold titles we downloaded over the past months on the 360 will play on the Xbox One if we (360 owners) upgrade to the Xbox One?

 

No, thats not what i am saying.

I am saying that as a gold member that only has a 360, you can now add the free xbox one games for gold to your download history direct from your 360 dashboard.

Once you get an xbox one those free xbox games you added will be free to download to your new console.

You apparently could download them from this site before, you can now do that on your console.

 

Just to help clarify if it still isn't clear. For March Rayman Legends if free for Xbox One. On your 360 you can go claim the Xbox One game now, if you get an Xbox One 2 months later when Rayman is no longer free you will still be able to download it to
your Xbox One because you claimed during the free period from your Xbox 360.
