    Xbox Live Gold vs Xbox Game Pass


    Do I really need to be paying for both? I read an old message thread with a similar question, and the answers did not help me come to a conclusion. I am not the xbox player but the person who pays for all of this so I need this explained in terms for someone
    who does not play xbox or have any familiarity with it. When I look at my account, it shows that I pay for both Xbox Live Gold and Game Pass, but both descriptions say:

    Enjoy the benefits of of Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Live Gold.

    If they both say this, then don't they do the same thing and should I subscribe and pay monthly fees for both? According to Xbox's description, it appears that they do the same thing. Can someone please help me to understand this a little better?

    You must have just Game Pass and Xbox Live Gold.

    Just a friendly reminder though that you need an Xbox Live Gold subscription to play online, Jimmyworley1.

    It's either you will buy the Xbox Live Gold individually or upgrade to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

    The Xbox Game Pass Ultimate includes Xbox Live Gold, Xbox Game Pass for Console, PC Game Pass, and EA Play both for Xbox and PC.

    Seems like it's not asking you for a Game Pass but it's asking you to subscribe to an Xbox Live Gold subscription, the reason why Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is one of the options is due to the Xbox Live Gold included on the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

    You will be needing to subscribe to either Xbox Live Gold or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate to play the game, Ghosty2506.
