    Hi. I have a xbox live gold subscription, and i can play games offered with "games with gold" perfectly (sleeping dogs, outlast etc.) but unfortunately i can't play online with my games (fifa 17, gears 4, etc.). In fifa 17 when i try to play online it says
    that i don't have the privilege to do so. Same problem with GOW4, it sends me to the store to buy gold membership!!

    Never said anything about Required, but if u wanna play xbox win 10 online u do.
    As the others have said, and linked to, you do not need Live Gold for playing multiplayer on PC....from February to August last year, I played Horizon 4 on PC and never had a Live Gold subscription, despite playing online almost every day

    Why can't I play any games on Xbox Live?

    You need a gold subscription in order to play on Live. You can sign into Live with a silver subscription in order to download content, but you can't actually play online without a gold subscription.
