Xbox live gold sharif won't work

I'm trying to get an Xbox game that is free with gold on my account that doesn't have gold. I have gold sharing turned on on the account with gold, though. Does ablnybody know how to fix this or what happened?

Xbox live gold won't work

So I have Xbox live gold and it expires in October 2017, but for some reason I can't play online on any of my games. What's going on? When I try to play online a message shows up to tell me to subcribe to gold to be allowed to play online, whicht I am and
if I try to become a gold member (again), it tells me I already am.... Frustrating...

I'm sorry to hear about the issue. The free games through the Games with Gold promotion are only available to the account that has the active Xbox Live Gold membership. If you are sharing Gold through home sharing, you won't be able to acquire them unless
you have your own active Gold membership.

Same as Sharif, just got off the phone with MS and they said it was an issue that only appeared today, their IT teams are working on it as we speak, trying to recover my brothers account and it seems to be working fine at the moment, but i cant guarantee

I'm assuming you're refering to this raptr promotion
raptr.com/.../xbox-live-free-gold-subscription. This promotion only works if you currently have an Xbox silver account, if you're currently a gold member the promotion code won't work.

I'm waiting for someone to say "Check your Gold subscription. Has it expired?" Xbox Live won't work without it.
