Xbox Live Gold Sales... stop playing around...

Indifferent, if there is a game I want to play, I already own it.

 

I have to agree with Dead on this.....although the OP could have worded it differently I think everyone would like to see better sales and 3rd party key activation on the One. Apparently the "don't speak for me" people like to pay more for games?

Sale prices are set by agreement between all parties. The reason Steam is so much cheaper is because of a significant amount of competition, if they don't play ball with developers and publishers they sell the game activations from other vendors that get
activated on Steam anyway.

Digitally? Amazon has codes (at least in the US ) but mirror the console price. I don't know of anywhere else to get codes.

 

I'm not the one who paid $60 for Elite Dangerous....So yeah! Don't speak for me.

has an area where you can buy download codes, and
CDKeys has games available to purchase.

I'm sure there are more but these are the two I know of.

 

Randver - prices set by all parties? I don't recall consumers being a party to that.

Distributor, developer and publisher (if there is a publisher). It appears MS is the problem in many cases because the console cross platform indie titles are on sale on a regular basis during "Flash" sales on the PS but not over here.

I had never heard of CDKeys and they appear to be reputable. I didn't look close enough at the site to see if they sold in the US and I also found Ultimatum Game Keys that also sells Xbox keys in the UK while looking into CDKeys. Selection isn't very good
at either site but it's better than what we have in the US.

There are dozens of those type of sites for PC games and in many cases the indie developers will sell keys from their site. That much competition is why PC prices are much lower and games get discounted so much quicker. It's common to see price wars on pre-orders,
I pre-ordered Witcher 3 for 43 bucks.

They are. reddit speaks highly of this site and, after I gave it a go myself, It's my go-to place to buy Gold at ridiculous discounts. Recently I purchased a game via them. I believe they sell global codes only, hence the limited selection.

He's right. They should price them better. I buy most of my digital purchases from cdkeys.com. I bought AC Unity for €9.00. Until there are other companies competing with MS digitally they will not lower their prices. Even green Man Gaming has better prices.
Most people do not shop around and buy right from the marketplace. MS know this so why lower their prices to be competitive?

 

I was disappointed with just about every sale since the Xbox One's release apart from this last ultimate game sale, but I think that was a combination of not many games as well as poor discounts.

What I do now is put games on the sale list and I won't buy them without it being on sale and it's actually made the sales much better for me. Even though I know I could afford the $10 - $20, I wait till it's $5 -$10.

 

@brand...... the LOL at the "don't speak for me crowd" is unjust..... I will never let a stranger represent me on a public forum.... ever/ I buy from the MS store, so far 100% of my DD are from there, either full retail or on sale. CDkeys may change
that for me....

This is why microsoft as well as other large companies can get away with mediocricy an treat us thew ay they do and will continue to. Ppl will an do fall for their sales ploys as well as there PR ploys. They no if they give ppl something free then certain
ppl who are naive believe that they care about them. They don't, they care about getting your money. Theres a reason Black Flag was free. Not bc its a good game, but bc it was a flop an there was no more profit to be made from such a dissapointing game yet
ppl believe they are getting a big title game. Wake up gamers. Pay attention!!!
