    I am new to gaming and bought an Xbox 1, 2 months ago, and a Xbox live gold subscription. After changing my Microsoft password
    AND deleting, resetting, my Xbox account I cannot re- redeem my Xbox live gold subscription. HELP an ageing Silver surfer please.........p.s. Completed Halo 5,

    Xbox One needs to be started twice before booting.

    You don’t need to Xbox Live Gold subscription in order to reset your console and lose anything. An Xbox Live Gold is just needed to o play multiplayer online.

    SwitchdKiller, if you have ran out of Xbox Live Gold your tenure resets. The "badge" you are talking about is how many years you subscribed to Xbox Live Gold with out stopping.
