xbox live gold question

Hi my sons have a xbox one console each and I currently pay for two subscriptions per month for both of them to access xbox live gold, surely there is a cheaper way, do you think I could buy gold for just my account and sign into theirs so they have it
too? tia

Can i order a standard Xbox 360 Live 12-moth Gold code online, to use on Xbox One Live?
They are all the same i assume, i don't need a special Xbox One version do i...

i don't want any fancy Killer Instinct xbone promo live version as mentioned above.

you can only do it for one of the accounts but what you will have to do is give your account to one of your sons and set your account as home on his xbox, the way you do this is by going to the settings, personalization and go to my home xbox, that way when
your son comes online on his account he will use your xbox live gold.

 

thanks but you have confused me haha we all have an account each but I barely use mine so we can ignore that one, would I be able to pay for one sons subscription and he signs into both consoles and then there will be gold on both consoles? or will the
gold only work on that particular console and for everyone who might use it? the problem I have is there's two consoles and I need them both to have gold but I don't want to pay for two lots if I don't need to

what you can do is cancel the one subscription on one of your sons console and adding the other account onto the console you cancelled the subscription on, then what you will need to do is go into the setting on that specific console and set it as my home
xbox, then both of your sons can play on their own consoles while sharing the xbox live gold, if you need anymore help i'm pretty sure there are videos on youtube which can explain a lot better than through text,

okay I think I get you now, so I cancel one subscription for son #1 and then on #1's console sign in with son #2 account (which is being paid for) and make that console #2's home console and that will give that console access to gold and then because #2's
is being paid for he can sign into his console and it will give him gold too, if this is the case then thank you very much for your help

 

you will need to set your son #2 account as home on son #1 xbox in order for it to work,

so the steps will be,

sign into son #1 console and cancel subscription, add son #2 account onto the same console, sign in onto son #2 account on son #1 console, go to settings, go into personalization and set it as home, sign out of son #2 account and back into son #1 account.

and that should be all
