XBOX LIVE GOLD present card for 3 months

and please do you roccemend buying codes online from websites such as

Also take in account, you have to purchase 3 months subscription. This doesn't apply if you buy a 3 month Xbox live gold card.

Go to any retail store that sells video games/console (like Gamestop, Wal-Mart, Target etc...) and they will have Xbox Live Gold month prepaid cards.

They will look something like this...

There's a card for 3 months ($25) and 12 months ($60). They used to sell 1 month cards in stores but Microsoft got too greedy.

If I understand correctly you bought a 65$ Xbox Gift card and tried to purchase Xbox Live Gold with it but it asked for your creditcard instead?

Unfortunately you can't purchase Xbox Live gold using gift card, you'll need to either buy Xbox Live Gold cards which come in 1-3-6-12 months (promotional ones can have an extra month or 2) or you'll need to purchase it using a creditcard.
