Xbox Live Gold on Xbox One.

Okay so I bought a pre-owned xbone a week or so ago and I've been able to play my games with friends like warframe and assassins creed unity. However, according to the Xbox 360, my gold ran out on the 6th of April. And I can still play with my friends to
this day. Troubleshoot? Questions? Don't ask me, I wouldn't have a clue what's going on, then again, I'm not fussed about it either, being able to play with my friends for free is how it's supposed to be. Not Microsoft and their money grubbing schemes of having
to constantly pay to play.

So, there's a few things potentially happening here...

1. You're account is set to auto-renew and it just billed another month behind the scenes.

2. A much more intriguing possibility, but first, a question... When you bought the console, was there already the old owner's profile still on it? If so, that could explain it. See, on the Xbox One, if the main owner of the Xbox pays for a gold subscription
and sets that console as their "Home" console, any subsequent profile created and dwelling on that console get to share that gold access. So if the previous owner's profile is still on there, you may be inadvertently using his gold status.

 

Just to add, even if the previous owner's old account wasn't on the console, if that console was still set as their Home console you would still be sharing their gold.

 

To answer Marty, it says that I do not have gold currently on my account and that I need to renew it to play online (but I can still play online regardless) and the whole console was formatted so the owners old profile couldn't have been still on there.
