    Xbox live gold on child account


    Hi. I have xbox live gold.

    My child accounts can play online games ok.

    But as a child account when you go the store and try to purchase a game which is included with xbox live gold it doesn't think we have xbox live gold on the child account. (Just offers to join xbox gold live.. no error message)

    Even through the child account is a family member and xbox has been set to "my home xbox"

    There seems to be no solution to this problem if a child account is the one with Xbox Live Gold and you don't have an Xbox 360.

    The parent account does not have the ability to get the Xbox Live Gold game for free.

    The child account gets the message "Your account is unable to make this type of purchase on Xbox.com".

    Just for clarification, is this a child account?

    Is there issues when attempting to buy a Xbox live gold subscription?

    If this is a " Parent and Child account" then the child account would attempt to buy it then would need permission from the adult account.

    If the child has no safety lock on purchases then the account may purchase the Xbox live gold with no issue.

    The Xbox live gold does not have to be bought as a gift.

    If the parent account has gold set it as the "Home console" so the gold may be shared to other users on the console, if this is a Xbox one.

    Please ensure you have Xbox Live Gold on the account you are trying to use on your Xbox 360, Live Gold is not shared between account on the Xbox 360, unless it is a parent and child account.
