Xbox Live Gold not working on all games

I found my Xbox live gold 14 day trial today (I had gotten it with my xb1s at xmas.) I had no Xbox live gold on my 1S at the time, so I turned on my Xbox, went into watchdogs 2, tried to join an online event, selected "continue" when the get more with gold
screen popped up, selected "redeem a code" and put in the code. I was told I was being redirected to the Xbox website, but nothing happened, so I went into home, tried it from there, and it worked. I clicked "activate" and it worked. (Note that watchdogs 2
was open at the time) And I went back into watchdogs 2 and tried joining an event, only to see the get more with gold screen. So I went to home, closed the game, opened it and tried again. "Get More with Gold". I tried one more time. "Get more with gold".
So I went into wwe 2k17 and tried playing online, and it worked. Can anyone help me with this?

Well, I have a 14 days xbox live gold trial, everything's working just fine (could donwload free gold games, gold deals...) BUT I CAN'T PLAY MULTIPLAYER, i tried 6 games they all say the same thing "XBOX LIVE GOLD IS REQUIRED IN ORDER TO PLAY MULTIPLAYER"

Trials don't change your account status to gold and won't work with all games/game modes.
