Xbox Live Gold not working for my profile

My brother used an xbox live gold code on his profile, and from what I have heard it should be shared with my profile. However, when I try to connect on 2k, it won't let me. My brother can connect to people on GTA V just fine though. How can I fix this problem?

Gold on 360 and One

Hi all,

So the situation is this. My eldest had a 360 in his bedroom and younger two have one downstairs. Eldest has gold against his profile and one of my other lad has gold on his profile downstairs.

I'm buying Xbox one for Christmas to replace the 360 downstairs. I will put this against my profile and I've read that all profiles on the One can use the gold access. So far so good.

I've also read that this same live account running on the One can be used on another 360. So My question is, can my eldest son use my Xbox live gold on his 360 but against his gamer profile? I'm guessing not and to access live gold on his own profile he''ll need his own gold account?

Probably not described it very well but basically can we have just one gold account between a One and a 360 where only my eldest will use the360 with his own gamer profile.

wont let me sign in

will not sign in to my profile. And when it did it says this profile can't play on xbox live. I just renewed xbox live gold subscription 2 weeks ago. It does not expire till next year. Why is it not working?

Make sure your brother has the console set as his Home console.

And he has his own seperate profile which uses my Gold so I'd be using my profile on my xbox and he could have my profile on his xbox but he would be using his own account but getting free xbox live gold because gold is shared through accounts if wanted
and he could download my games. This would work right?

yes you sign in with your profile (your profile must remain on his console) for this to work. then go to setting- all setting-personalization- my home xbox.. make this my home xbox. they get your gold and games no more buying two years of xbox live gold......

I reset my system today. I was able to restore the games and profiles through xbox live (on the Microsoft website), but I no longer have xbox live gold. How do I restore the xbox live gold so that the multiplayer games work again.

if you are adding a second profile to your xbox 360 and the main profile has xbox live gold then from my understanding the seccond profile will have access to the same xbox live gold features as the main profile.
