    Xbox live gold not recognized in Destiny 2


    Destiny 2 no longer recognizes that I have Xbox live gold. I have the subscription until 12/23/2018. I have done multiple hard resets on my router and console. I have deleted my account from my console and reinstalled. Other gold required services seem to
    be unaffected. I just downloaded a Games with Gold title without complication. This started a few days ago.

    Destiny Requirements?

    My Xbox Live Gold is about to expire, I'm currently playing Destiny and I'm not planning on getting Xbox Live Gold this year.

    Do I need Xbox Live Gold to play Destiny?

    I would think that you don't as the box doesn't say Online Only.

    After further investigation, I can't use party chat either. I have found similar problems in the forum and it looks like contacting support directly is the only thing that can resolve this issue.

    First try doing a factory reset on the console. There's an option to keep installed games and apps so you won't need to redownload them.

    If that doesn't work then definitely give phone support a call. Click this link to get the number for your region Customer Support

    If you want to play strikes and nightfall, the team stuff. Then you will need xbox live gold. So 70% or so of destiny 2 is free to play.

    2 day trials don't actually give you a full gold account, they just let you try some of the features of Xbox Live. For Destiny you need an actually paid for Gold account.

    Promotional subscriptions are not eligible for Rewards, as stated in our FAQ:

    —My Xbox Live Rewards account is not recognizing my Xbox Live Gold membership. What should I do?

    Xbox Live Rewards can only recognize paid monthly or yearly standard, non-promotional Xbox Live Gold memberships. If you have a different type of membership, we may not be able to recognize you as an Xbox Live Rewards Gold member.
