Xbox live gold membership

Just had to talk to XBOX support about renewal. I had the family gold pack for $99.00 for 4 accounts and XBOX no longer has that option. Now I have to pay $65.00, with all the taxes for each gold XBOX live membership. That's a outrageous amount of $195.00
for 3 accounts. That's BULLSH**! I will not buy a XBOXONE, and I will be canceling all 3 of my XBOX line account and purchase the newest PLAYSTATION because of this outrageous Microsoft crap!

If you have an Xbox One, only one Gold account is required. For example, if your profile has Gold, any other accounts on the Xbox One will be able to use the benefits of your Gold without needing to buy separate Golds for your family.

As for the "Newest PLAYSTATION" which I believe is the PS4, also requires paid membership to play online via PS+, haven't heard about shared PS+ membership on PS4.

Gold membership on Xbox One and Xbox 360 is not required to use apps e.g Netflix, Youtube, Internet Explorer etc...in simple terms, all apps are paywall free but certain app membership is required e.g Netflix, Amazon instant etc.

 

So please do some research before you start losing hair and a shame Xbox support didn't explain to you about shared gold.

 

I just went through the same thing. My son told me that it came up our subscription was expired, so I went on to renew. Not realizing I was only subscribing for one person, I paid the $65.00 and then when my son went on he told me I only renewed for myself.
So, I call Microsoft and was told that the family gold pack is no longer available. To top it off, I paid for 2 years last July. So now they will only apply the 12 months of the remaining membership to one member. That's major BS for sure!! They entered
into an agreement with me for 2 years, then decided to tell me the membership was expired when it really wasn't. I had an additional 12 months remaining. Although they did refund my $65 and my son can use the live with the remaining balance of the family
plan, that's just wrong and not good business on Microsoft's part.
