Xbox Live Gold Membership not showing on Xbox One

Hi, so about a month ago I bought an Xbox One set it up and everything and then I entered the prepaid code for 12 months I bought from Gamestop. I can play games online, but when I go to my subscriptions on the Xbox to see how much longer i have on the prepaid
card, it just says "Learn more about GOLD" and doesn't show my subscription and says the same thing if i try to check from my computer, and on an unrelated note I also cant talk in the party chat. Any help is appreciated, Thanks.
