Xbox Live Gold membership keeps disappearing.

I got a my xbox one and then went ahead and got xbox gold for a month and marked my calendar for when it would renew. Naturally I forgot and it got auto renewed for an other month. Not to waste more money I decided that I would cancel the auto renewal and
get the years membership. The first think I noticed was that my account didnt have the gold membership, I got confused and then checked the credit card bill and every thing at it seemed that I had been charged for it, yet I did not have it. Not wanting to
get into the whole customer service issue I decided to just get an other subscription for an year.

That was 2 days ago, today I sat down again to play and what do I see, my years worth of subscription gone again. I checked, my card got charged, I got the confirmation e-mail and everything. Can someone explain as to what is going on?
