Xbox Live Gold Membership 14 day trial is not working

Hello,

I have used the Xbox live gold member ship 14 day trial to play destiny. However, I was unable to actually play because it told me that i did not have xbox gold. I was confused because I had just finished inputting the code and was currently in a xbox party
chatting with my friends. How could i not have xbox live gold membership but still be chatting with friends?

I have spoken with a helper and he explained to me that the code i used was only for one specific game and that i could not play any game i wanted. I disagreed because the card itself did not indicate this information at all. no where on the card did the
idea that the membership would be limited in that way. He mentioned this lack of information as a strategy to cut printing cost on these xbox live cards. I then told him that this was misleading and unfair because the customer would not be able to fully experience
xbox live the way the card states.

I still have the code, but do not have the receipt. Is there anything to be done?

Are you saying that you used the 14 day trial and then underneath the 14 days it stopped working? Its not 14 time you sign on it is 14 days from the day you first used the trial. If you liked what you saw and used when connected to live I suggest getting
a gold membership.

 

Just bought GOLD but it still says that I am Free

I am assuming the 14 days of gold is a free trial as microsoft do not sell 14 day gold memberships.. Free trials do not give you access to all the gold features. This is meant to be used to test the xbox live features. If you want access to gold exclusive
demos and access apps that require gold membership you will need to purchase a proper gold membership.

first and foremost

14day trials do not change your status to gold

they are temporary access to non ranked games and certain games

2nd read the description of your destiny game box

GOLD membership is REQUIRED

meaning trials do not work

you need an actual paid membership

the card never promised you full benefits

that's the description of gold

the card says only SOME benefits of gold not all clearly in the description

 

nothing can be done except on your end which is buy actual gold

destiny is a RANKED matches game only

which nulls any trial codes

 

just purchased the tomb raider 1tb xbox one bundle, which comes with a 14 day xbox live gold trial. it actually says "activate your 14 day xbox live gold trial." i am having the same issues. cannot dl free games, yet able to chat. if i try to dl a free game,
it wants me to upgrade to gold. WTF? it says live gold trial! explain that!

 

A trial is not a full gold membership.

You need a full gold subscription in order to download the free games & on the xbox one you need to remain gold in order to play any games with gold title.

A 14 day trial only gives you limited access to some gold features.

In future it's always best to start your own thread if you have an issue you need help with.
