Xbox Live Gold Member but cant play Xbox Live multiplayer.

Hi I just created this account a couple of days ago. I was given a 1 month gold trial to play online. When I start any game, Titanfall/Forza 5/Killer Instinct it prompts a buy a gold membership screen 3 months for 25 dollars 60 dollars for 1 year. I check
the account and it says im a gold member until September 11th 2014. I was reading topics on these forums revolving around xbox live issue and it seems like this is happening to people all over. Can someone help me, really would ike to see if being a gold member
is worthwhile. Thankyou

Xbox One: Sharing Digital Games and Gold

Looks like Microsoft has released additional info on how the Xbox One Digital sharing will work when the system launches. Little change up, but its interesting their is no mention of Xbox family share. Guess you have to be logged in at a friend's house.

Problem to play halo reach online on xbox one

Hi, I buy xbox live gold today again. I want play halo reach online with my friends. I got xbox one and software work. but I cant play online. This is the message when i log in with my xbox profile "Requires an Xbox LIVE Gold Membership with permission
to play multiplayer on Xbox LIVE." so i cant play. My xbox live gold end in december. any solution? thanks

Sorry to hear about the multiplayer issues. Let's see what we can to get you playing some multiplayer. I recommend trying a few troubleshooting steps to see if we can get this issue sorted.

Please give the following steps a try:

• Press and hold the power button on your Xbox One console for 5 seconds.
• Once your console is powered off, unplug the power cord.
• Wait 3 minutes and then plug in your console.
• Power on your console and try loading a multiplayer game to see if you get a message asking you buy a Gold membership.

Unfortunately I followed the steps above and it didnt work. I went one step further and waited 1 hour while the power was unplugged. Then followed the steps but it didnt work either. Do you have any other suggestions, im willing to try anything

 

What you can try to do is to re download the profile.

go to settings>remove accounts

then hold down power button for 10 seconds

turn back on

then add your profile back to the xbox.

Now you must understand that trial memberships are not "full" memberships

some features are not allowed on trial memberships.

To check if you have gold sign into

Ok what I did is I formatted the harddrive so everything was erased. I redownloaded my account, I reinstalled Titanfall and Forza 5. Went to the Titanfall still asked for me to buy gold. Closed down Titanfall, put in Forza 5 went to do online multiplayer
and it asked me to buy gold. Whats extremely weird is xbox live multiplayer works fine on my xbox 360. Not sure how that works, isnt xbox live gold universal between xbox 360 and xbox one?

 

Do you have the same gt on the x360? How many profiles u have on XB1?

 

I have only 1 profile on my xbox one, its the same gamertag as the one on the x360. Only played gears of war 3 on x360

 

What was the exact message you got when you tried to play titanfall?

 

You are not allowd to play multiplayer with this profile, then the buy xbox live gold subscription page pops up

 

Get in touch with official PHONE support, your gold might be glitched out if you did all previous troubleshooting thats written here. Subs might need to be cancelled and reinstated.

 

Ok i called xbox support. Stayed on hold for 2 hours but got through. The guy made me delete my account canceled the remaining amount of gold (10 months). Then had me make a new email address and a new gamertag. He gave me 10 months worth of gold access
codes. But heres the problem it DIDNT WORK i still have the same problem now its on the new account. I wanted to play the beta so badly. Brace yourselves this problem wil not be fixed for a long time.

Im positive Lumynyx will come back and tell you the same thing.

What you can do is turn on the gold sharing on the profile that has gold and see if you can access gold on the first account. If not, then give it a shot and restore console to factory defauts.

You wont lose anything since saves and stuff are linked to your GT. Let me know how it goes.

EDIT: to restore factory defaults go to settings>system>restore factory defaults

 

Well just went through with phone support and it didnt work. I had to cancel xbox live on the account. Then create a new email and a new gamertag. Was given a one month code via email to use. After I installed Titanfall it still gave me the "buy gold sub
screen" on the new account. Tried it on Killer Instinct the same thing happened. Could it be the console itself thats defective, or was the console xbox live banned. I think Im going to sell the xbox one, no sense in having the console if I cant play at all.
