Xbox Live Gold is unpurchasable

I do not have an xbox live gold membership, i know this because i cannot play online. I cannot redeem a pre paid card, because when i do it informs me that i already own the membership, and that there is an overdue payment, when i select the option "fix
it now" it brings me to services and subscriptions, where it says the only overdue payment is my xbox game pass, not live gold, there is no option to pay for xbox live gold, and it does not appear as though it is overdue. There is also no longer any option
to disable reoccurring billing. It seems likley that there actually is an overdue payment, that would explain why i cant use the pre paid card. however I am givin no option to pay what is "overdue" using any method at all, ive also gone to the xbox store to
buy gold directly from there, got the same message as when i redeemed a code. Ive tried 2 different Microsoft support lines, nither of which connected me with a real person, and when i try to contact a "live agent" online, im on some kind of "waiting list"
for hours and hours. What am I supposed to do?

Is it Game Pass or Game Pass Ultimate that's overdue? Ultimate includes Gold which is why you would get that message when trying to add more Gold.

If it doesn't give you an option to pay the balance there, you'll need to contact support and speak to billing. You'll have to request a call or chat with support at http://support.xbox.com/contact-us
If you don't see those options, change your category/topic until you do.

You should also check your account page to determine if you did correctly purchase these items, and also ensure that your gold sub is active.

Verify that you are on the correct account that downloaded the game initially. You can also go to https://support.xbox.com if you have tried all of the other suggestions.

Is your Xbox Live Gold subscription still active? In order to keep on playing past games with gold, you will have to have an active Gold subscription.

Was it your account that downloaded the games? Are you designated as the home Xbox? have you tried power cycling the console to refresh things?
