I think since microsoft and xbox companies should make gold free and not do free games anymore

Xbox Live Confusion?

Xbox Live is free.

You can make a Gold account, or a Silver account.

The Gold account gives you access to access to play online, along with free monthly games and weekly deals. This has a fee.

The Silver account gives you access to Xbox Live and apps, but you just can't play online or get the free games. This is free.

Yeah,i was trying to work out how they would make more money by doing away with the gold subscription fee,which really isn't expensive if you think about it.

I'm fine with the yearly fee. I'm happy with the free games as well. Gives me more games to play. I'm happy about it!

I don't think cutting out free games( which are usually at least 5 years old) would make up the revenue for gold.

They make a lot of money off of consoles....huh. Then how do you explain the 500,000,000 losses they took during the 7th Generation? And the significant losses they are taking currently with each Xbox One sold?

I am just curious as to how they will pay for the 300,000+ Servers as well. They should just foot the bill for every thing?

I am happy with the cost of Xbox Live Gold. And I will happily continue to pay for the service.

To me Microsoft did the right thing by releasing the apps from behind the Gold paywall. makes it a much fairer system.

PlayStation did this with their PlayStation 3. What a big mistake that was for them. Yeah, people were happy, but they lost more without the subscription there.

Its like your ISP just saying, you don't need to pay for the internet. How are they going to keep their services running.

if Xbox did this, then they would struggle to keep Xbox Live up. Besides, Gold isn't that expensive. You can choos a package that's right for you. £6 for 1 month, £15 for three months & £40 for the year.

No. They are not making Xbox Live Gold free. They are only make games that are "free to play" such as fortnite for example, not require you to have gold to play online.

Other games that are not "free to play" will still require a paid Xbox Live Gold subscription in order to play them online.

There is no date announced yet for when free to play games could be played online without gold.

unfortunaly ScarfyPlayz Xbox Live Gold will not be a free service. They do have Ultimate which includes Xbox Live Gold. But unfortuanly some games do require you to have a Gold Membership. But as far as Xbox live Gold being free, sadly that won't be an option I am very sorry for the incovience.

Xbox Live Gold is the paid subscription for the overall service of Xbox Live. Since you need Xbox Live Gold to play online and access the deals and Free Games with Gold you get every month, "Gold" and "Live" are generally used synonymously. Whatever Free
Game with Gold you downloaded when you first put in the free trial should still be playable with your active paid subscription granted you first claimed the game on the same account you started the trial to the one you are using now to play the games with
the active Gold subscription. Any free game you claimed with the Gold subscription can only be played with an active Gold subscription.

Forza Horizon 4 is a game you get with an active Xbox Game Pass subscription and not an Xbox Live Gold subscription. Forza Horizon 4 was never available as a Free Game with Gold. King's Quest is a free game in general and has always been listed as free so
anyone can get this game for free if they have an Xbox One console with or without an Xbox Live Gold subscription.

Xbox Live Gold basically gives you 3 main things. Multiplayer and chat capabilities with friends or other players over the internet, Deals with Gold, and Free Games with Gold.
