Xbox live gold free games

hi all I'm just wondering why everytime I try to download one of the free games with gold I'm taken to a payment page and asked to pay for gold even tho I'm already a fully paid up member of Xbox live gold and I will be until June 2016, this has only started
to happen since the backwards compatibility update. Any help advice would be great, thanks

This will be Free to play this weekend and will be the full game and then available to purchase with 50% off on Tuesday in next weeks Deals With Gold.
Think I will give it a go. Silly question but does it have an offline/SP mode at all?

I have no idea I just got on today and it said I can't download the free game since I don't have gold, but on the Xbox website it says I have gold until 2017.

I have the same thing - it shows me an offer to buy gold yet i have it until June 2016. Whats more bizzare that on x360 i had no problems downloading games with gold. Somehow the problem is only on xbox one.

I cant access the games with gold x360 games on xb1. The video starts, then an error message saying they cant play the video and an error code (0x876c0103) which doesnt seem to exist

You can't access the Xbox 360 Games with Gold from an Xbox One console. You will need to use a computer to "download" the games to your Xbox One. You would visit the GwG page and select the Xbox 360 game you wish to download. From there, select "Download
to Xbox 360". It will add the title to your Ready to Install section of My Games and Apps.

A new feature is currently being tested by Preview members to allow for the viewing and purchase of BC titles through the Xbox One Store.

You can access xb360 games with gold on xb1 by going to gold members area and then clicking on get more with gold. Thats how ive always done it. Its just not been working properly for last two days.

In theory, you could. But when you would select a game it would say "Bundle Only". You would need to visit
www.xbox.com/.../games-with-gold to download them.

i want to know are you making xbox live gold free? and when will i be able to play free online games on xbox one?

No. They are not making Xbox Live Gold free. They are only make games that are "free to play" such as fortnite for example, not require you to have gold to play online.

Other games that are not "free to play" will still require a paid Xbox Live Gold subscription in order to play them online.

There is no date announced yet for when free to play games could be played online without gold.

Xbox Live Gold is the paid subscription for the overall service of Xbox Live. Since you need Xbox Live Gold to play online and access the deals and Free Games with Gold you get every month, "Gold" and "Live" are generally used synonymously. Whatever Free
Game with Gold you downloaded when you first put in the free trial should still be playable with your active paid subscription granted you first claimed the game on the same account you started the trial to the one you are using now to play the games with
the active Gold subscription. Any free game you claimed with the Gold subscription can only be played with an active Gold subscription.

Forza Horizon 4 is a game you get with an active Xbox Game Pass subscription and not an Xbox Live Gold subscription. Forza Horizon 4 was never available as a Free Game with Gold. King's Quest is a free game in general and has always been listed as free so
anyone can get this game for free if they have an Xbox One console with or without an Xbox Live Gold subscription.

Xbox Live Gold basically gives you 3 main things. Multiplayer and chat capabilities with friends or other players over the internet, Deals with Gold, and Free Games with Gold.
