Xbox Live Gold for Fortnite

I had a question for Xbox Live Gold for Fortnite. Why do we have to pay the Gold Xbox Live service for Fortnite ? When you have a PlayStation 4 or a Nintendo Switch, you don't have to pay to play Fortnite if you don't want to pay the online service. In Fortnite,
I am actually TIER 64 and I want to reach the TIER 100, so, it would be very interesting to make it free ( but just for Fortnite ) and that would bring back Fortnite players to the Xbox One.

Those are the service rules, to play online xbox games you have to pay for the gold membership.

This may be coming to an end very soon in the near future. I read somewhere online the other day that, Microsoft is looking into this where players won't need to have a paid subscription in order to play Free-to-Play games online such as Fortnite etc. However,
this may take time, but, I did indeed read something online where Microsoft could be taking this kind of stuff into consideration. That being said, all we can do is wait patiently for Microsoft to give the green light... Cheers!

 

Since Nintendo launched the paid Nintendo Online Service on September 18 you do actually need to pay to play on the switch now

 

Well according to what I've read on IGN, Nintendo stated that you will NOT need to have a paid subscription to play Free-to-Play games online. Here's a few sources I was reading into earlier.

Tried to play it last night and it required membership

 

I'm not sure why it's free on PS. Maybe because they're using independent servers or something. Nintendo have just released their online subscription too. About Live gold, It's not really expensive especially with all the great offers and freebies you
get every month.

First, you don't need to pay PS PLUS ( the online service ) to play Fortnite on the PlayStation 4. Second, you don't need to pay Nintendo subscription to play Fortnite ( my friend has a Nintendo Switch ). Finally, if you you think that Xbox Live Gold is
not really expensive with all the offers you get, give me a Xbox Live Gold code so I can play Fortnite.

 

I would like the same too but not Fortnite I would like all F2P games to be out of the online payment grid just like they are on PC

 

But not for Fortnite because my friend has a Nintendo Switch and he doesn't need to pay the online subscription to play Fortnite for free.

 

Confirmed on PS4. Don't have active sub, worked fine.

 

Why we should pay to play

I am talking on fortnite. Xbox live is troublesome because you are not playing all the days that you have payed for. some days you may have a circumstance so you cant play. isnt that wasting for money?

So

There is two ways to solve that problem

Either dicrease the amount of Xbox live subs or make it for free

For example no need to make 3 month for 24 dollars it is enough to make it for 16 dollars or make it for free
