Xbox Live GOLD for child (3rd console in household)

I understand the use of a Home console and signing in on a second to share GOLD. However, I have a third console that needs another subscription and it is a child. How do I purchase another GOLD subscription for their console. It says a parent needs
to do it, but if I sign in with my account, it will add a second subscription to my gamertag, not theirs.

    :)

You can add a prepaid Gold subscription to your child's account, if would prefer not to have a payment method attached to their account. Prepaid cards are available from many major brick-and-mortar and online retailers.

Actually, many online retailers do offer the option to buy a "digital" gift card. They will send you a redemption code via e-mail that can be entered on the child's account, adding the subscription to it.

Plus, you can use parental controls to allow a child to launch a purchase that the adult must confirm. You can do this at the

    Microsoft Account website

Thank you. So no easy way to do it from computer or console at home? Must buy physical card only? Wish a child could purchase, but simply force parent account to sign in and approve like any other purchases for games, etc....

    Ok, simply put

Child One has Xbox Live Gold and games.

Child two has their own console.

Child one sets child twos console to their home xbox. Thus allowing the sharing of child ones Live Gold and games.

Child one signs out and ensures auto login is switched off on child twos console.

Child one can login on any other console and have access to their games and Live Gold etc.

Edit: You can only have one Xbox console set as your Home Xbox console. As soon as you set another Xbox console as Home Xbox, it cancels the other out. So all having the 3rd console set as Home Xbox will wipe the other Home shares out.

Yes the Home Xbox is designed for use on one console and it will work as described with two consoles in the house. A third console would need its own Xbox Live account for the third person to be able to use Live Gold etc.

Unfortunately there is no way around digital transfers between accounts.

Microsoft Family is only for you asa an adult to be able to monitor your childrens accounts, as long as they are set up as the correct age and not attempting to bypass the restrictions that a child account has.

    xBox Live Gold: Multiple consoles.

    Hi there,

there is not an option to share subscriptions in one household.

But since this is for 2 consoles, there is an alternate option.

You can use the Home console feature. If for example one of your kids accounts has a Gold subscription that account is able to use the Gold features on any console that is connected to Xbox Live.

That account is also able to assign one Xbox One console as their Home console, which will result that their Gold subscription is shared on that Home console, allowing other profiles on that Home console to use Gold features too.

See this link for more information in regards to Home console features:
    https://support.xbox.com/xbox-one/xbox-live/xbox-live-gold-sharing-features

This will also be the case for other subscriptions and for digital purchased games.

In your situation, if child A has a Gold console, and assigns console 1 as their Home console, child B (and any other profile) will be able to use Gold features on console 1.

Child A will be able to use Gold features on any other console as long as the console is connected to Xbox Live (Internet)

Keep in mind that if their is a Service issue or internet issue, digital purchased games can only be played on the account's Home console.
