xbox live gold - does it work on XBOX 360??????

Is it possible for my son to play on Xbox Live gold games with his friend on his friends' Xbox 360 live gold console?

I have been having a LOT of difficulty setting this up. The Xbox 360 shows on my account in one place, but is not listed in another place. My son had his MS account listed on the 360 console, we changed the account to my (I'm parent) MS account and it told
me to go to xbox.com/accountswap --- which wanted me to change my password. I know my password and can log into it with NO problem on my laptop. I am so disappointed in the way this works as it is NOT user-friendly at all!

We have spent hours for several days trying to set this up.

If only one account has gold then that account can get onto xbox live on any console regardless of the "my home xbox" feature.

Xbox live sharing does not work on xbox 360, so you will need more subscriptions for each other account that doesn't have gold.

On the xbox one the my home xbox feature will share xbox live gold and digital games (not all DLC) to all other accounts on that console when the account with gold is the "my home xbox" account but that does not share to backwards compatible games on xbox
one.

It looks like the account you're posting from is an Xbox Live Silver account. Is there an Xbox Live Gold account on your Xbox One console that was sharing the Gold privileges with your account? With the Xbox One Home feature, you can share Xbox Live Gold
with any other account that is signed into that console, however that feature does not work on an Xbox 360 console, which is why you may notice that Gold features work on one console and not the other.

Keep us posted if that helps clear up what the issue may be.

does your xbox live gold suscription still active? if not you can only play games of xbox 360 that were on games with gold

Yes. He would need his own gold subscription (sharing is not available on the 360) and he would just need to sign into his account on the 360 to play.
