Xbox Live Gold code stating already redeemed.

Hello,

I am hoping someone can offer some advice regarding an Xbox Live Gold subscription.

I bought this for my son and literally scarped off the silver coating to reveal the code, entered it and was told it had already been redeemed?

Is this a common issue and if so what do I need to do?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Reply to the code sender stating the code was already redeemed.

It's not super common, but it does happen. You would have to try contacting the retailer you purchased it from for an exchange. If that doesn't work, you would contact Xbox support. 1-800-4my-xbox if you're in the US/Canada or

I don't know if anyone else already posted the solution to this, but a friend had the same issue with the same error. The problem was, he was trying to redeem a code over a trial gold. Live Gold and Gold Trial, doesn't mix up, that's why the solution is
to let the gold subsciption end and then redeem the code. So if you have a Live Gold and try to redeem a Trial code (like the one included with the xbox) or the other way around, it won't work.

Thank you for posting on the Xbox forums. We understand that you are attempting to redeem a prepaid code for Xbox Live Gold, but the device is stating that the code has already been redeemed. Are you using an Xbox One, Xbox 360 or a Windows 10 computer?
Do you see an
active Xbox Live Gold subscription on your account? Do you see the redemption of the prepaid code on

your account's order history? Be sure to let us know the results pedro!

If you subscribed to Ultimate, you would need to cancel that subscription or wait for it to run out before adding a prepaid card. Otherwise, as it states, prepaid gold or game pass codes will be converted to Ultimate when you redeem them. If you already
redeemed the code, there would be no way to revert it back to gold.

As you've mentioned, you're getting an error code 80190128. This may mean that the Xbox Live Gold free trial subscription that you’re trying to sign up for has already been redeemed. It is either your Xbox Live account already redeemed the free trial Gold
subscription or the console that you're using already reached the limit for trial accounts (3 per console).
