    Xbox Live Gold code only for Xbox 360?


    I entered a code from a pre-paid card for 12 months of Xbox Live Gold Membership which cost me the normal retail price of 59.99 Euros in Austria, and when I entered it, it only came up with the fact that it was a code for 12 months of Xbox Live Gold Membership.
    But when I then confirmed that I wanted to redeem it, it said that it was content only for the Xbox 360 and not for Xbox One. Is this a mistake or a glitch of some sort? I can happily provide the code number if requested.

    It did mention that if it had something to do with Backwards Compatibility, then I had to check on my One in the installation queue, but when I looked, there was nothing there, and I am currently still unable to access Gold features on my One.

    Help would be appreciated, because I would rather not to have to spend another 60 Euros to have to get a code for my Xbox One as well.

    Xbox Live Gold code only for Xbox 360?

    The XBOX Gold is not tied to a device it is tied to the account. Are you logging into the XBOX One with the same account information that you use when logging into the 360?

    I am, yes. I only have one account. And also it was on the Xbox One that I entered the code, not on the 360, so in theory, it would have linked with that account rather than the one for my 360 if I had more than one account surely?

    I also checked my emails, and it sent me a confirmation email that I'd renewed my Gold, and even mentioned both Xbox One and Xbox 360 features. Yet my Xbox One still won't recognise that I have Gold...

    Sorry to hear it. Can you please try power cycling the console by holding the power button on it for 10 seconds until it shuts down. Then, while it's off press and hold the power button while unplugging it at the same time. Be sure to keep the power button
    pressed until it stops blinking if it is.

    Let it sit for 10 minutes and then power back on. Hopefully your Gold will show then.

    All Gold Subscription prepaid codes will come up with that. That's just how the system recognizes them, it doesn't indicate that it can only be used on a 360. WHen you go to settings-account-subscriptions on the Xbox One does it show it there? Try removing
    your profile, THEN hard reboot it from settings-power and startup-restart now. Once back up redownload your profile.

    Are you trying to purchase a discounted game from the Deals with Gold or get the free download for Games With Gold? If so then the reason you're getting that error code is because a trial pass is only good for some Gold abilities such as online multiplayer.
    A trial cannot be used to take advantage of gold only deals.
