    XBox Live Gold Causes Destiny Malfunction


    I've played Destiny for a month with no difficulty. Today I subscribed to XBox Live Gold. Now when I attempt to log in to one of my Destiny characters, the program produces an "XBox Live Gold required" message and will not allow me to play the game at
    all. So, ironically, an XBox Live Gold membership actually prevents me from playing not just the restricted portions of the game, but the parts that do not require Gold member as well. Joseph Heller must've programmed this.

    Destiny without Xbox Live Gold?

    Hello i only want to know can i play Destiny on xbox 360 without xbox live gold? Or do i need xbox live gold to play Destiny?

    Do I need Xbox Live Gold to play Destiny?

    I would think that you don't as the box doesn't say Online Only.

    Sorry to hear you're having problems. There were some issues with Xbox Live last night that could have been impacting your gameplay. Try power cycling your console by holding the power button on it for 10 seconds until it shuts down then see if you still
    experience the same issue.

    If your subscription is set up alright after you to go your Microsoft Subscriptions as previously posted, then I would try perhaps removing your profile and redownloading it refreshed from Xbox Live following the steps outlined here on

    How to add or remove a Microsoft account on Xbox One.

    If you have not, give that a shot and let us know how that helped in resolving your issue.
