Xbox live gold cards won't go through

I had the same problem yesterday. My Xbox recognised the codes but came they through as an error, for whatever reason. I had guest come over yesterday so I was unable to play/enter codes for the rest of that day. Once I got up this morning (about 20 hours
after I last tried to enter a code) the code went through fine, so I think Xbox may have got to the problem or it might just be a time thing. Let me know if this helps

An Xbox Live Gold subscription at the moment can only be redeemed through an Xbox Live Gold pre-paid subscription card, or with a payment option (credit card or PayPal) attached to your gamertag.

You are able to purchase Xbox Live Gold through several options

- You can purchase a subscription directly through your xbox with a credit card

- You can purchase pre-paid cards that come with codes you can enter through the Xbox guide menu.

To enter a code from a pre-paid card, press the Guide button on your controller, go left to Games and Apps, and scroll down and select Redeem Code, you can then enter your code and you should be golden!

Did you purchase Xbox Live Gold through the Minecraft + Gold page through the Xbox One dashboard, or did you purchase a 3 Month Xbox Live Gold pre-paid code and redeem it? If you redeemed and Xbox Live Gold code, unfortunately you will not qualify for this
promotion. To qualify for this promotion, 3 Months or 12 Months of Xbox Live Gold must be purchased through the Minecraft + Gold promotion page directly through the Xbox One console with a credit card on file.
