Xbox live gold card refused

I bought a live gold 12 month card, insert the code to get the message saying "This code is not valid. Please enter a valid code". I've tried any times but always get the same message.

Windows LIVE ID was deleted. Unable to agree to terms of service. Locked out of my games.

I do have proof. I have an old Xbox Live Gold Card and I used my debit card on the account.

I told the customer service reps this and they STILL refused to help me.

Your account is currently under a Gold membership, were you trying to extend your membership, or start a new one? If you were starting a new one it is possible it just needed time to update.

My another question is that, How to recognize the xbox live silver card and xbox live gold cards? Is the silver card still available.
