Xbox Live Gold Cancelled

I bought 1 year of Xbox Live Gold on 3/17/2020 and prepaid for the whole year. Later on 4/22/2020 I merged my Xbox Live Gold into Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Yesterday I decided that I did not like Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and decided to cancel it. I assumed
that I would get my Xbox Live Gold back but I did not even though I had payed for a full year. How do I get my Gold back because essentially I got 1 month out of a 12 month subscription.
