Xbox Live Gold Acting Up Close to Expiration Date

This has been happening to me for years. I always buy a physical card for my 1 year subscription to gold because it's always cheaper that way. I have no problems with my gold until it gets within a month to two weeks before the subscription expires. Then,
as soon as my X-box tells me to renew, I start having connection issues. It won't sign me in to live and I have to restart several times, or I'll connect, start up a game, and then five minutes later I'm booted, rinse and repeat. It basically makes the xbox
unusable. This has happened on both the 360 and the one. Sure enough, it started acting up in Dec. I got a free 3 month trial with a game, so I put that on, and immediately everything cleared up, no issues, until the past few days. My Gold doesn't expire until
the 8th, but it's unusable now. This feels like it has to be done purposefully by Microsoft to force you to purchase Gold before you need it. Why else would it only start within those couple weeks before expiration, and go away the second I enter a new code?

Does anyone else experience this?

Do the subscriptions say "cancelled" or did you mean expiration date? For example, does it look something like this:

Prepaid 12M Xbox LIVE Gold, Purchase Date: 1/1/2013, Expiration Date: 1/1/2014

Prepaid 12M Xbox LIVE Gold, Purchase Date: 1/1/2012, Expiration Date: 1/1/2013

Prepaid 12M Xbox LIVE Gold, Purchase Date: 1/1/2011, Expiration Date: 1/1/2012

Is this something similar to what your's looks like? You also mentioned that you have no number? Did you mean you have a zero or nothing is displayed when you look on your Xbox 360/Xbox One? You may have no choice but to wait for one of the Support members
to chime in to investigate what is going on.
