    Xbox live gold access

Sorry if this has been asked before, but it don't seem to be able to find a simple answer anywhere...

we have a single xBox 360 in the house and this is the only console we have use of (Microsoft anyway)

we used to have a family gold membership that was converted etc.

I have renewed the gold membership on my account, but my boys cannot play live games on the same console.

do we have to buy gold membership for everyone using the console now or should a single live membership cover the 360 console and all users?

    thanks in advance

    Alan

    :)

    Xbox Live Confusion?

    Xbox Live is free.

You can make a Gold account, or a Silver account.

The Gold account gives you access to access to play online, along with free monthly games and weekly deals. This has a fee.

The Silver account gives you access to Xbox Live and apps, but you just can't play online or get the free games. This is free.

Xbox App on Windows 10 Preview[Major Nelson Preview Video]

I'm thinking he is referring to Xbox Live Gold. If that's the case, they've confirmed that you will not need to pay for Xbox Live Gold to access online modes/games for Windows 10.

    Xbox live gold access

Sorry but the Family Gold program has been discontinued on the Xbox 360 which means that each member of your family would need to purchase their own membership to play on live.

However there are a couple of things to note about changes to the service now.

    1) No longer is Gold needed to access Apps on the console. You can access and use them with a Silver membership now.

    2) If you are in the market for an Xbox One your Gold membership can be shared through your other family members on that console only. This means that your boys would be able to play online with the Xbox One console games.

    Hope this helped.
