Xbox Live Gametag recycling

to whom this may concern,

hi I am a gamer and use the service of Xbox Live to play call of duty competitively against other players. with that being said the recent uprising in eSports over the past 3 years has made it a bother for myself and many many more to have gamertags
that pertain to childish and silly or even irrelevant things. now after trying to find a gamertag that not only appeals to me but is accepted without questioning by other players, I learned that the chances of that happening are very miniscule. and so going
through this process it has come to my attention that there are quite a lot of gamertags that are not in use and have been inactive for a substantial amount of time for some a length of over 5 years. therefore I and other gamers can not stress enough how much
we care about our online personas and Microsoft being in control of such matters, we the gamers, on your service, would outstandingly appreciate if you could perhaps make changes to the document 'Xbox Live Terrms of Use" to state that if "the player" has become
inactive for a said time period then there gamertag would be recycled to the community, with the service of xbox live providing a new one if said "user" were to sign in to xbox live again. here we sit wondering why a process that seems so minute could not
be preformed by a company and service that wants us to believe that we are appreciated with the amounts of revenue we give to xbox and their developers by buying the products and online services that they put out. If your anyone who can do something about
this and are reading this right now please know that it is very wanted that gamertag recycling is a service that be provided with xbox live memberships. and what seems to be in the best interest of you and us (the gamers) that this gets deeply looked into
with haste a "priority" if you will, thank you

Xbox is telling me to get Gold even though I have it?

Another way to attempt to fix this, is to remove the account from the xbox in settings->accounts-> remove accounts. After that is removed login with that gametag again to force the console to fetch your live subscription data. In rare cases your Xbox account and live account will lose sync.

 

Xbox live gold membership on the wrong gametag

I renewed my xbox live account a couple of days ago but it does not appear on my console. When I paid the gametag associated with the xbox was different to the one I now use and the gametag that I added xbox live to no longer exists. How do I get the xbox
live membership to my current gametag?

 

Will never happen. The only other time it did happen people just registered the released tags and sold them on eBay.

 

I paid to change gametag but it was said "sorry it is reserved"! I do not receive my changed gametag nor a refund!

Please keep an eye on thread dates so we don't bump older threads. If a gamer tag says it's reserved then that means it is already in use and you should not have been charged for it unless you selected a different one and continued. If you did get charged
then you will want to contact Microsoft Phone Support to discuss your refund options (support.xbox.com/contact-us).
