Xbox live gamertag system broken?

Hello all,

My XBL account is old and I thought I'd use the new and more modern approach to account names, discord/battle.net kinda style. However. I'm stuck with the 3 digits pinned onto the XBL GT with the number as part of the GT. I contacted support who said it's
a known issue with no fix.

How long has it been broken for and has anyone managed to get any kind of ETA on a fix for it?

Hi,

the xbox team is working on the problem but they cant give a ETA as it affects alot of people on xbox and cant be fixed super fast without creating new system bugs

Here on the Forum you can speak with Ambassador (voluntary like me), MODs or MVP, but I don't know if someone have idea when bug like this will be fixed, maybe a direct contact with the dashboard developers may help but I'm the first that don't know how
to contact them.

I'm not saying the x1 is a broken mess, but the system on x1, smartglass, xbox.com, xbox live app etc that shows activity - that is broken, as confirmed by many here.

I can successfuly change gamertag (using new system) there:

(since xbox app on windows 10 is broken, can't create account with it)

Sadly I won't be able to change gametag anymore for free,

because system wasted one on log on here... :/

As slackadelic stated, it's best to report & block and move on. The enforcement team get thousands of reports a day, and all do get investigated, but some do take longer than others. Don't worry, if the person is found to have done that, then Enforcement
will take the necessary action against that person.
