My recommendation would be to change your email address like Christyna64 mentioned in her response. I believe that may be the best way to address your issue as I understand it.

By changing the email and password on your account you would basically be taking control over your current Microsoft account and no one else would be able to log in as you changed the credentials needed to access the account. Also, all updates going forward
(including password resets) would go to the new email address not your old one. But you would be able to keep your gamertag, achievements, game data, etc. That would be my recommendation. I hope this helps!

Well, the thing is all your purchases are tied to the account you made the purchases on. It is the same with Google Play, Sony or any company. There seems to be a couple of options depending on your needs, but you say you want the account deleted. As for
the Gamer Tag, that can be used again with the new Gamer Tag system. These are probably not the solutions you're looking for since you mention you want to delete the account and simply tranfer content, which I haven't seen as an option for any company that
holds our content liscenses.

Hi, I believe you should be able to add a new MS account and have your gamertag attached to it as long as you add the email as part of the process of creating the new account rather than try to migrate it to a previously-existing MS account. The following

Hello! I have a problem with Xbox account gamertag. Some time ago I had Microsoft and Xbox accounts. I deleted my Microsoft account about 1 year ago but my Xbox account gamertag is still exist and I can't register new account with using same Xbox

You do realize that deleting an ms account doesn't actually free up your name right?

It can take up to 5 years from when you last login

It probably wouldve been alot faster to do it the proper way

Change the name on the account holding it

Wait a couple months or maybe instant

Then change the name to the one you want

Now if you deleted the ms account because its permanately banned well you can never get that name account

Xbox accounts aren't the same as ms accounts

Ms accounts are for billing and logging in

They aren't your xbox account
