Xbox Live gamer tag problem and why I will never purchase another gold membership or anything ...

So today I decided to log in to xbox live for the first time in a long while. I kept getting an error that I had to download my profile so I did. To my amassment my gamer tag had benne changed without me knowing. I was worried my account had been hacked
so i called customer service immediately. They went ahead and told me mny gamer tag was randomly created my there system because of some code of conduct crap. my gamer tag was not anything racial, profane or disrespectful so I was ***. But thats not the worst
part. Heheh went ahead and told me I would have to pay to change the gamer tag they gave me like wtf are u kidding me. I am really disappointed in this policy and will not continue to be a customer with Xbox again. It's not even the money it's the principle.
I know I'm only one person and the administrators don't even care about loosing one customer but I will speak out anyway. Sony here I come goodbye xbox!

Elder Scrolls Online is garbage.

So, I bought Elder Scrolls, then had to buy an Xbox Live membership. But, after doing that, I kept getting looped to the purchase screen for another Xbox live membership. I probably have to sign in again, somewhere, but I am already signed in on my first
membership. Cannot access the game or any Xbox Live options. I was charged nonetheless.

I'm stuck with a garbage Xbox Gold membership (active for 2 more weeks) that is supposed to allow access to a $50 game that won't start unless I purchase additional Xbox Gold memberships.

 

Guys & Girls, do the community a SOLID and vote for inactive/banned gamer tags to be recycled!

Lets be real. Nothing last forever, not even us. So why make a gamer tag attached to someone permanently? There are probably some really awesome gamer tags like "Master Chief" where the person is no longer with us(dead) or inactive and chooses to never return to xbox live. Gamer tags that are inactive should be recycled so another person or new generation of gamer can honor it and keep the gamer tag active.
There should be an option to petition for a GT that meets certain conditions. 1) no online activity for 3 years; 2) An email that goes out to the individual with the option to reply with a yay or nay to allow xbox to break the connection worth the GT; 3) of no response to the email after 90 days, the GT is automatically surrendered and made available to the person who made the petition; 4) if the GT isn't taken within 7 days after notice has been made to the petitioner, it is available for anyone to grab. No fees, other than the cost to change the GT in the first place.

Dude, I'm in the same boat. I called and they said there was nothing they could do to help me. Not one person had the authority to let me pick my own gamertag. I've been a customer for 6 years and nobody could help me out. Hello Sony!

 

Xbox has really let me down I've been a customer for over 8 years! All they say is our hands are tied go to the forums! Like really wow that is terrible customer service I think it's an excuse to charge 10 bucks!

 

blame those who abused the free name change service when in the past if you had a tag against the rules they would not let you sign into Live unless you changed your tag. too many people changed it to ones just as bad so they changed the policy to give
you a auto generated one. you can still change it to anything you want but sadly you will have to pay to change it keep it clean and it will be the last time you will have to pay for another one.

 

Phone support/customer service have nothing to do with xbox live enforcement,that's why they can't do anything.

Part of the punishment for receiving a forced name change is that you are given a random tag,for free.

If you want to change it to a personal one then you have to pay.
