Xbox Live Game Compatibility Question

My friend and I both play Gears 2 for Xbox 360. The issue is that I play it in an Xbox One, and they play it on an actual 360. Both games work great, and we both have live. Can we play together on live despite having different systems?

backwards compatibility and Xbox Live

Question about backwards compatibility I get my xbox one Xbox Live through another account because its home Xbox is my xbox, thus I get xbox live. Will I still have the xbox live on the 360 emulator when I use backwards compatibility?

Games with Gold Titles Included in Backward Compatibility

When backward compatibility launches in November, all future Xbox 360 Games with Gold titles will be playable on Xbox One. That means Xbox Live Gold members now will get more free games to play each month on Xbox One.

Looks like your modem is not compatible with the xbox. Look at this list,
Xbox LIVE compatible hardware list.

I have the My Xbox Live App. but I don't think it is compatible with Xbox Companion to use your phone as your controller. My question is, is it compatible with Android?

As long as you have access to your account you will be able to purchase and Xbox Live Subscription on that account and download the profile to the new console.

As for the question about the Xbox 360 games for the Xbox One console, the games will need to be
Backward Compatible. You can find a list of compatible games in the

Backward Compatible Game Library these games will be available for download as long as you have previously purchased the digital copy of the game, this also includes the games you may have redeemed from Games With Gold.

any content that is backwards compatible and purchased digitally with your Xbox Live Account should be visible in the Ready to Install section on the Xbox One.
