Xbox live game chat issue

please check the settings in your game, and try unplugging the mic and plugging it back i (when leaving party games tend not to pick up the mic)

Ok, then I would take a look at NAT. For both Xbox Live and for Call of Duty. They can have separate NATs and would by first guess at the culprit for this.

The game can have additional ports needed than Xbox Live. Port Forward website here is a pretty reliable source of that information, but you might want to
check Activision Blizzards Call of Duty support site to check. It's quite possible that the battle royale mode has additional ports as well. Unlikely, but possible.

So verify that you both have OPEN NAT for Xbox Live and Call of Duty.

Let me know how that goes. If you're both Open on both game and Live, then we'll have to find another tree to bark up and troubleshoot.

Thanks a lot for the reply but I dont think this is the issue.

so my buddy and i both have xbox and we usually just use party chat and we communicate fine there.

when we switch to game chat however, we can hear eachother anymore. And when we have a third player in game chat that player can hear the both of us but my buddy and i still cant hear/communicate eachother.

does that make sense?

so essentialy we have to be in party chat to communicate.

I checked all the settings. We can literally each hear and talk to the 3rd person in our game but cant hear eachother in game chat. Only in party chat.
