Guys,

Whoever thought of the ins and outs of the interlinking of online games with Xbox Live must have been drinking too much that night.

Instead of all online games dying when your Xbox Live goes down how about have a setting in Xbox to say "Right, this user has a subscription to Xbox Live, I will check to see if it is working, if not, I will allow the game to play while this service gets
back on track, thus allowing the user to have fun instead of being frustrated that he/she cannot play".

Now because Xbox Live is down, I actually have to go and have a life, this is just not normal for me, please consider other Xbox Live alternatives, it can be frustrating to say the least.

And yes, I have a life, just a disabled one.

Nope it's not possible to transfer a gold membership from one account to another, Same goes for MS Points

Set your console as your home console and go into offline mode. Most games allow you to play offline. Only a few have issues without internet connectivity to live. Obviously games that are completely online based can't be played. There are plenty of single
player games to be played even more so if you have updated backwards compatible Xbox 360 games.

Yep same issue here unable to login but does support says move delete profile which i did they support chat vanished now have no profile on console and live says unable to download at this time very frustrating no i can not even play a game on my profile
saves as no profile to play with wake up live or i will be cancelling my ONE preorder and going to PS4

Yes, this is happening to a bunch of our accounts and friend's accounts. (if it's the xbox.com/proofs issue). It started happening about a week or two ago. I'm not sure how it got introduced, but there are a few ways to potentially get around this.

What worked for me is:

going to through the screens

logging into with my username and password

It will tell you your login info is incorrect. (even though it's not)

Wait to see if an xbox live notification pops up, like how many friends you have online

Press the xbox button and it *should* exit the screen and you should be logged in.

FYI, sometimes I have to do this 2-3 times for it to stick, but it eventually works for me. We have 7 accounts in the house and 2 xbox and it's happening to both boxes and each account. We've been getting by it by following the steps above. My wife went
to xbox.com/proofs and did something that she said makes it so that her account no longer is prompted to login, but I don't know what that was.

if it's connected by wires router to xbox check them maybe theres a crack in it someplace.

reconnect all the plugs if you got a cat 5 cable that is. one maybe got lose. could be something simple worth a try.
