xbox live friends list

when i scroll down friends list it won't scroll through the names anymore than the 8 gamertags that appear originally on the screen... the highlight over the name seems to go down but the names don't scroll onto my page.. can someone help ? also i try to
look at recent players sometimes and all the names are blank

Your Friends List has disappeared- Solutions

If your Friends list on Xbox LIVE has disappeared, follow the steps bellow to troubleshoot the problem:

First, you need to restart your console.

You have to sign in to Xbox LIVE using your gamertag.

Now ask any one of your friends who is in your friend list, to delete you from his or her friends list.

Then, you need to send a new friend request to him or her again.

Finally, sign out of Xbox LIVE and sign in to Xbox LIVE again. You’ll see the friends list in the Xbox Dashboard.

I used the USB as asked and everythings fine. The problem must be my HDD. What do i do now

Hey there Postman!

I'm sorry to hear about the issue. If you haven't yet, try
power cycling your console to see if that clears things up. Hopefully that does the trick for you and your friends list is back to normal. If not, the next step to try is going to be a

factory reset of your console. You can keep your games and apps though so don't worry about needing to reinstall those.

Give those a shot and let us know.

If you don't mind for others taking a look, what exactly was wrong that it's now working for you? If it was your hard drive, you could try to take your save data and put it on a USB Flash Drive and once you received a new hard drive you can simply move those
files back.

Anything that you purchased can be re-downloaded without having to pay for it again.

deleting and reloading my profile has doen nothing. I still cant connect to my friends on xbox live. Clearing the sytem cache has also done nothing

its ok i figured it out. If my HDD is the problem does this mean i lose all my game save data
