Xbox Live - Friends / Connectivity Issues

I understand problems happen. I don't understand what the problem is because Microsoft is not saying anything more than, "we're working on it." This has obviously been the longest outage I have gone though in my 7+ years of gold, though it is far from the
first time it has happened. I have a hard time believing I have had this One for almost a full year based on the number of problems I have experienced along the way with ownership. That said, I am not worried about WHY this happened, I am wondering if there
is any official news on WHEN it will be fixed? I am also wondering what the customer service side is going to do about the fact that this paid subscription I have does me no good while this error is going on. Will there be an extension of Gold services or
a partial refund to my account? I would like something for having to put up with this.

Also, I just want to point out that this sucks. I have Forza Horizon 2 and was looking forward to having a fun holiday weekend with friends just to find that I am doing nothing but sitting alone and playing. Do you realize I actually got up out of my seat to
go to the gym and grocery shop? Unacceptable.

Are you having trouble using the Xbox One Online features?

My friends had some issues connecting to Xbox live this morning. I didn't know it was official though, but I'm glad to know that they're already working to fix it.

Well said, lets put it this way im a support engineer and if i had systems down for this amount is time i would have been looking for another job by now!!!!

Come Microsoft this really is not acceptable and not good customer service as you are keeping every in the dark.

Maybe this is an elaborate plan to do just that! Get us out the house and go visit some friends and talk during the holiday! lol

On a realistic note, the ONLY thing i can think as to them being so vague, is they still arent sure what exactly IS the problem. If it was a holiday and you staffed 25% of your company then asked that 25% to go through some couple million lines of code,
line by line until you discover why, it would take some time. Not to mention WHEN you find it, where does the error occur? What is the fix? What will it take to fix it? Obviously with this kind of down time, it's deeper then ever expected!

Hang in there, im sure someone will bash their head on the keyboard an everything will run again!

Why is this an issue though? I mean I have no problem connecting to my friends on PC games. Why is it an issue with Xbox Live?

Here are some steps that you can try to resolve the issue:

Restart your Xbox 360 console: This will refresh the system and sometimes resolve any connection issues.

Check Xbox Live status: Make sure that Xbox Live is functioning properly and that there are no service outages affecting your ability to connect.

Check Xbox 360 privacy settings: Ensure that your Xbox 360 privacy settings allow you to receive friend requests and play with friends.

Confirm friend request: On your Xbox 360, go to the Friends tab, select the friend request and confirm the friend request.

Test Xbox Live connection: On your Xbox 360, go to the Xbox Guide and select System Settings, then Network Settings. Test your Xbox Live connection to ensure that everything is functioning properly.

Check Xbox 360 NAT type: Ensure that your NAT type is set to open, as a strict NAT type can prevent you from connecting to other players.

Remove and re-add friend: On your Xbox 360, go to the Friends tab, select the friend, and then select Remove Friend. Have your friend send another friend request, and then accept it.
