xbox live free trial

So I am having problems activating the free trial for xbox live. I just made my xbox live account yesterday, and it is a child account. My parents have already changed the settings to allow for me to purchase. I am trying to activate the trial through the
website on the computer.

When i try to activate the trial, I get this message:

Change your settings to allow purchases
Your settings are blocking purchases of free or paid content. If you still want to buy this, first change your settings to allow purchases. Parents will have to change this setting for children.
If you could help me, that would be great. Thanks!

Gold Membership Codes

For anyone who has a Gold membership with Xbox Live, have you seen these coupon offers? Supposedly, you can either get Xbox free or get a free trial offer for as long as one year. There might be a catch, but maybe they're just doing it to promote the Gold membership. Has anyone ever gotten a free trial?

A chat supporter also wanted me to include this code which was a reference to the chat, but i accidentally deleted it. His name was Alvin
