Xbox live free to play games

I have two Xbox One S machines at my house for my nephews. I purchased battlefield one for them years ago and more recently battlefield 5 and dragon Age Inquisition and elder scrolls Skyrim and several games for the machines we had purchased for them at home. When I purchased battlefield 1 the game was relatively new and I paid $60 for a game to play on a 250 dollar machine. When my nephews came to me and said we need an Xbox live membership for 50 more dollars to play battlefield 1, I could not fathom what they were talking about as I had just spent all this money to purchase a game from a game maker and a console from a console maker, microsoft, who had apparently created a console which gave access to the gaming venue in which to play said game,I could not understand what else do they want??

This is when I learned that a console I had just paid $250 for was not what it was sold to be. I purchased a console with the intent of having a venue, a machine that gave me the ability to access the full game capabilities of battlefield 1. I found out that the console was a means by which to make absolutely essential the purchase, not of a one time additional unit but of a lifelong repetitive payment annuitized across the full time period I was going to let my nephews enjoy their gaming at my house if they wanted to utilize battlefield 1 and battlefield 5 and dragon Age multiplayer in the main gaming venues these games were manufactured for, online play!

I sent you in a complaint which of course received a form letter response and then I looked into other systems like Nintendo and PlayStation which have their gameplay set up as simply a part of their high price console benefits which I certainly would have liked to have known before I bought two Xboxes but it never crossed my mind that I would be locked into an annuitized payment for a lifetime simply to play the games that I was going to purchase on the console I had purchased to play the games.

Now I find out that enough people have complained that they are giving free online play but only to certain games that have received enough negative public attention to move politically to give free play to these players but not to the rest of us you are paying Microsoft's overhead which is very small and the rest pure profit for maintaining an integral part of gaming in the 21st century with a console or computer or any other gaming device. My question is, how much longer are we going to pay for those people to get free gaming on games like fortnite, while we have to pay to play our games?

I am getting ready to upgrade to a new console and was going with a different direction but when I heard that Xbox live was being done away with, I was getting ready to purchase two of the Xbox one x machines but then I found out it was selective, who is benefiting from this Xbox live change up, and it is only select individuals who play these free games. Microsoft, please get rid of this Xbox live requirement to play games on your system. When I asked someone about it on the helpline a while back they said that there are campaign sections of battlefield 1 and battlefield 5 that you can play without live and I had to hold my tongue because this Microsoft helpline person knew that campaign this is about 1% of what battlefield 1 and battlefield 5 offer, the games being created for online multiplayer gaming which is where their content is updated and maintained for years after the game comes out.
